Obituary
Tyrone George Anderson 69, of Oakland, California was called home on Tuesday January 31st, 2023. Tyrone G. Anderson was born on July 21st, 1953. He was the ninth of thirteen siblings to the late William C and Geraldine Anderson. Tyrone was educated in the Camden City Public School district and after leaving Woodrow Wilson High School in 1972 he later joined the United States Army serving from 12/6/1972 until 12/2/1976.
After honorably discharging from the military, Tyrone continued serving in the Army Reserves/ National Guard for several years and held employment at the Tyco Toy Factory Moorestown, NJ, CCMUA Camden Plant, and Aluminum Shapes in Riverside NJ. Tyrone met Garnella Reynolds in 1978 and they later married on June 20th, 1981. Later in life, he met the love of his life Darlene Harrison in 1992 and this union produced his precious daughter who was the second love of his life, Tyesha Nise’ Anderson on April 27th, 1995. Tyrone and Darlene were joined in Holy Matrimony on February 14th, 1999.
In 2004 Tyrone relocated to Oakland, California where he resided on and off until his death. Tyrone was affectionately known by family and close friends as “ Po’Ty”, he enjoyed having fun
and acting silly at family gatherings and special holidays. Tyrone would always call his sister’s and say “Yo sis, how you make this and that “. Tyrone loved going to the Casino, playing the lottery, and had a passion for sucking his thumb while watching wrestling, sports, and movies (with one of his favorite genres being old westerns).
Tyrone was predeceased by his parents William C. and Geraldine Anderson, four sisters, and two brothers: Augusta Hall, Anna I, Williemae Anderson, Edna E. Walls, William C. and Nelson
Anderson. He leaves to cherish fond memories Darlene Anderson, daughter Tyesha Nise’ Anderson, stepson Willie Simmons III (Tiffani), two grandchildren Wynter and Willie Simmons IV, three sisters: Geraldine, Amber, and Altha and three brothers: Wynfield (Bernadette), Norris and Edward.
Tyrone and Darlene also had an extended family where they raised many foster children in their
Millville, NJ home for many years and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces,
cousins, and many many friends.
