Too many good memories to mention. Both Ernie & Bonnie were extraordinarily people & always good to me & my family. Their family & friends were like my very own. I was so young when my family & I used to go visit them. We would play all the greatest hit records (they had them all) & have a ball! It wasn't like it is these days. All of us befriended each other, we just got along. One of the best memories I have of Ernie is when I met him in the early 1980's. He was working for maintenance where I lived. One day he came to repair something in my apartment & he found me so upset & depressed. I had a 2-month-old infant. He offered to help me any way he could. He asked if he could take my baby & I said yes. I wasn't really serious about it, but he told me he would speak with his wife to make arrangements. Low & behold that weekend, which was an Easter Sunday here comes Ernie, Bonnie & their 3 children knocking on my door. I was both shocked and surprised. I didn't know what to say but I had to tell them I changed my mind. They responded with kindness and asked if they could just take him for the day. I said yes. In those days you could trust people and take them at their word. They took my baby that day & bought him back safe & sound. That was the beginning of a long loving relationship. They became my son's godparents and treated him as their own. My son Marcus loved them & until this day, Ernie & Bonnie are still Mom & Pop & will always be!
