Obituary of Gail Jackson

The Life of Lila Gail (Neil) Jackson Lila Gail (Neil) Jackson was born on June 21,1947 in Brooklyn,NY. She was the 3rd of 3 children born to Ida Mae Neil and Henry James Neil. God blessed her with a sister Cynthia Wilcox . Gail was educated and grew up in Brooklyn,NY.After the passing of her father,she was raised by her mother. In 1962 she met and married Lawrence Jackson from this Blessed Union were born 2 Daughters Lorraine aka Rainy and Lynette aka Netty Jackson. In 1968 she moved to Camden,NJ where she met the Bush Family who lovingly accepted her as one of their on and taught her about the Lord. She later had 2 children with Richard James Bush- Lavonne aka Missy Cobb and Richard aka Bubba Jackson. Mother Elizabeth R. Bush loved and accepted her as if she was her God-given daughter. She would occasionally attend church services at Faith Holy Temple COGIC and then later in life New Life Ministries. Gail loved to cook,known for her potato salad,collard greens,fried fish and chicken. She was a friend to the friendless and she loved to enjoy life by celebrating the holidays with family at cookouts and family dinners She received her GED and worked at Cramer Hill Apartments as a Rental Assistant and held her last position at The Radisson Hotel in Mt Laurel,NJ as a Concierge which brought her much joy. She loved to listen to the Oldies and tell stories about the good old times she had in New York. Whoever she came in contact with fell in love with her beautiful personality loving conversation,and she always could make you smile. Lila “Gail” Neil Jackson fought a good fight and finished her course on Thursday May 23,2024 and went home to be with the Lord. She told her children she had to go home where the Men were so handsome and the Ladies so Beautiful. She said she was given the opportunity to say her goodbyes to all her family,an opportunity many didn’t receive.She told her daughter Lynette ‘Netty’ she was going home Thursday and so she did. She was preceded in death by her Mother Ida Mae Neil and Father Henry James Neil and Mother-in-Law Juanita Townes and Brother Charles Fletcher Brown and Sister-in-laws Marilyn Townes,Margaret Jackson,Barbara Berry,Francine and Sandra Bush and Brother-in-laws Robert Townes and Daniel Bush.Also preceded her in death were her best girlfriends Karen and Theresa Long,Denise Dixon and she said she could not wait to see them again. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband of 62 years Lawrence Jackson who cared for her until her last entry into the hospital. Brother Harold Neil (Phyllis),Sister Cynthia Wilcox and Brother-In-Law Leonard Jackson.Her children Lorraine ,Lynette ,LaVonne Tamitha Bush Jackson Cobb (Montoya) and Richard James Bush Jackson Jr. ( Wally-Daughter-in-law). 7 step children Antoinette,Michelle,Keith,Junebug,Leon,Lamont and Daron.She also leaves behind a brother-in-law Charles Bush.2 Special Sons Fabrian Johnson Sr and Corey Preston. She has 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and 2 Godchildren Robin Daniels and Marquise Long and a host of Neices and Nephews and Family and Friends.
