Obituary of Martha Medina
MARTHA FRANCES FOSTA was born on July 11, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Frank and Carmen Fosta. She was the only child born to
their union. She was raised in a home filled with joy and Christian love.
Martha or “Marta” was raised and educated in New York City until the Brooklyn Navy Yard closed down and her father was forced to relocate the
family to Southern New Jersey so he could find work at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Once in South Jersey, Martha continued her education and
graduated with honors from the Camden Catholic High School. Being a woman who always wanted more in life Martha decided to pursue higher
education. After working various jobs Marta enrolled in Camden County College. After her completion of the college she enrolled in The Helene
Fuld School of Nursing at Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden NJ where she graduated and became a Registered Nurse. Once a Nurse, Mom
worked for the Cooper Health System until she no longer could do so physically, but would often work doing short term and long term home and
direct patient care.
Martha began her family legacy at the age of eighteen when she gave birth to her only son. On October 18, 1971, Isaac Franchesco Thomas was born.
Eighteen months later on May 22, 1973 she gave birth to her loving and devoted daughter, Michelle Christina Thomas. She devoted her life, love,
and longevity to her children. She provided them with everything she could. One lovely spring, Martha met, was courted by, and married her forever
love Mr. Salvadore Medina. They lived and loved each other for Thirty Years until her demise. She was a very loving and devoted Grandmother and
GiGI to her Nine Grandchildren and Nine Great-grandchildren. She loved to spoil and treat the little ones. It was her great pride to be out with us all
at any event but especially at Family Dinners which she loved because it was time spent ALL together and shut off from the struggles of our day-to-
day lives. You could rarely leave Moms presence without her giving you a hug while praying that God Bless and Keep You. This was her way, but
don’t make her blood pressure raise or else you would get that quick wit and sharp tongue that was all her own, Bottom line is if Martha didn’t fuss
with you, she didn’t love you. We will miss and cherish those very special moments in time.
Martha was an avid traveler and loved the Jersey Shore. She loved the casinos and restaurants that the shore offered. Martha loved to shop and be
about the town in her car with the children in tow. Mom loved spending time with her great friends, Brunilida, Joe, Sandra, Sherry, Linda, Louisa
among a great host of other people who loved Marta.
Martha F. Medina leaves to cherish loving memories her dedicated Husband, Salvadore Medina. Her Loving Son, Isaac F. Thomas. Her Devoted
Daughter, Michelle C. Wilson. Nine adoring Grandchildren; Margarita, Jasmine, Santino, Michelle, Lisa, Raymond, Priscilla, Jihan and Giovanni.
Nine Great-grandchildren; One Son in law, Charles Wilson; One Daughter in law, Jamika Thomas; One Son in love, Eugene Morris and a host of
greatly loved family and friends.
In Loving Memory
