Eddie Douglas was in my class that graduated from Moorestown H.S. in 1959. He was an incredible basketball talent. I was at the game where he scored 84 points. It was an afternoon game right after school let out. Even better, he was a nice, low key guy. Never saw him upset or angry.

Could never decide in retrospect between Eddie and Lu. Eddie was smooth beyond belief, and Lu was absolutely relentless. Kind of favor Lu because we were such good friends, even for years after basketball. Only played with Eddie one year (1957-1958), but make no mistake, I was in the right place at the right time. Lu, Eddie, Mel and "Lefty" literally got me a 4-year basketball scholarship to Villanova, which through a "tangled web" led to a 34 year career as a United Airlines Pilot. I'm sure the only major airline pilot who played basketball for South Camden YMCA, and even "frequently" hung out at Fat Daddy's Bar in South Camden and 939 on the North side. Maybe a book in the making, who knows (: The news is, of course, very depressing, but, you, Eddie were very exceptional, not only in basketball. Rest in peace my friend. You deserve it. Love you
