Obituary of Andre Rouse

Andre Leroy Rouse the only son of Paulene Presbery (deceased) and Alton Leroy Rouse (deceased) was born April 12, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pa. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Camden, New Jersey. Andre attended Holy Name School in Camden , Woodrow Wilson High School and later joined the Army National Guard. Once he was discharged from the National Guard , Andre worked at various companies in New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia and Maryland before finally returning to Camden. Andre enjoyed working with his hands and could fix almost anything. Andre had many jobs not limited but including  high speed machinery technician for Schmidt Baking Company located in Maryland and Gwaltney Foods in Virginia.  , an electrical technician at Frie Hoffer’s and Walton Meats and he also worked as a Security Guard while living in Tennessee .

Andre joined Baptist Temple Church in 2017 and loved the Lord. Andre loved people and loved to dance. He enjoyed watching various television shows like CNN, Chicago Hope and Lifetime. Andre loved singing in the living room the the O’jays and Jazz. Andre would always fix the neighborhood children’s bicycles and was happy to give haircuts. He was also known in Ablett Village as “Father Love” for his caring spirit and kind heart.

Andre was married for 20 years to the love of his life, Valerie Hanniyah Rouse. He always provided moral and emotional support to his wife especially during her illness which he helped her recover. He would often say, “Thankyou for taking care of our crackerbox, you did a good job” He was a loving and respectful husband.

To his family , he will forever be known as Dre or Uncle. His smile and energy radiated when he entered a room but he was joyous when he spent time with his family. He is deeply loved and will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paulene Presbery & Alton Rouse and one sister Frances Richards. He leaves to cherish his memories loving wife Valerie Rouse, his eight children Tehesha Jones. Rai Stewart, Shantay Bronson, Melody Bronson, Ingrid Rouse, Aissa Rouse,  Steven Rouse and Andre Gonzalez. Andre had 10 grandchildren, two loving and supportive sisters Denise Presbery and Tamika Lateef. He will be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews and two bonus children Turhand Jones and Tiwana Jones. His nieces and nephews Donna Presbery, Tonya Rouse, Malik Andre Presbery, Sun El, Ahmad and Omar Lateef, brother-in-law Ahkeer Lateef; 9 grandchildren and a host of great nieces and nephews.
